A friend showed me this tutorial using felt to create pretty rose barrettes. Oh so pretty! I just had to give it a try.
The instructions and the photos in this tutorial from the purl bee are well written and easy to follow (even for those like me with little hand sewing experience).
I made several barrettes in no time, which ended up being party favors at little Lulu’s birthday celebration.

Here is a last-minute Valentine decoration — very quick and easy. Grab all your paper scraps, a stapler and some scissors (or your cutting device of preference) and you’ll have this done in no time…maybe even by Valentine’s Day!
This clever idea comes from A Little Great.
Super simple instructions:
Using card stock, cut 8.5″ x 1″ strips.
Fold each strip in half.

Instead of stapling the chain together in a traditional circle, make a heart shape instead.

Enjoy!

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Make this simple love banner. Here is what you’ll need:
various colors of card stock
scissors
decorative pieces – hearts, stickers, glitter, doilies
glue
eyelets
1. Cut out the individual pendants. First, cut the card stock in half. You’ll have two pieces measuring 5.5″ x 8.5″. With the card stock so the short side is on top, cut on the diagonal from the top corner to the bottom center. Repeat for the other top corner. Make as many pendants as you like.
2. Decorate your pendants with whatever your heart desires. Let your imagination run wild.
3. Connect the pendants. I used 1/8″ eyelets, but there are many possibilities for stringing the banner together (ribbon, yarn, tape, etc…).
Enjoy!
