gotta have shoes

Handcrafted card, stamped with shoeSeems likes once the babies arrive there isn’t as much $$$ left in the budget for momma’s shoes.

Here’s the next best thing – a set of handcrafted greeting cards featuring…shoes!

If you’d like this set for your very own, or need a gift for a shoe-loving friend then head on over to my etsy store.

Stiletto, I look at it more as an attitude as opposed to a high-heeled shoe.

- Lita Ford

A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.

- Mark Twain

I still have my feet on the ground, I just wear better shoes.

- Oprah Winfrey

What becomes of the broken-hearted? They buy shoes.

- Mimi Pond

I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes, I had one thousand and sixty.

- Imelda Marcos

little birdie

Handcrafted card, stamped with bird on a branchWho doesn’t need a stash of all-purpose greeting cards on hand? I whipped up a batch of these for my sister-in-law. (Hopefully, I’ll get these in the mail to her before she sees this post!)

There is something magical about sending an actual paper card through the mail. I certainly love being on the receiving end. Giving and receiving cards is one of life’s affordable luxuries — another lovely delight.

These little birdies could be used to say happy birthday, I’m thinking of you, sorry to hear of youf loss, or whatever your heart desires.

For those so inclined, maybe a clever bird quote is in order…

Hold fast to your dreams, for without them life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.

- Langston Hughes
American writer and poet

A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.

- Maya Angelou
American writer and poet

I want to sing like the birds sing not worrying about who hears or what they think.

- Rumi
Sufi poet

If I keep a green bough in my heart, then the singing bird will come.

- Chinese proverb

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

- Dilbert
Character created by Scott Adams

Have a delightful day!

transformation

There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it’s going to be a butterfly.

- Buckminster Fuller
American architect, author, designer and inventor

Things are not always what they appear to be. Transformation is part of life. The next time you run into one of life’s caterpillars remember that one day it will become a beautiful butterfly.

Have a lovely day. endmark

felt rose barrettes

A friend showed me this tutorial using felt to create pretty rose barrettes.  Oh so pretty! I just had to give it a try.

The instructions and the photos in this tutorial from the purl bee are well written and easy to follow (even for those like me with little hand sewing experience).

I made several barrettes in no time, which ended up being party favors at little Lulu’s birthday celebration. endmark
